Dear Colleagues and Participants,

History is shaped by major events; the disappearance of the legal existence of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) on December 26, 1991 was such a breaking point. While this historical turning point paved the way for the Turkic states to gain their independence, it also created new and powerful cooperation opportunities in this geography to which we are closely connected with cultural ties. Since that day, the ties we have established with our brother Turkic states have strengthened every passing day, and the links of the historical and cultural chain extending from the past to the present have become even stronger. Each Turkic state offers invaluable opportunities to serve the public while building our common future with its thousands of years of experience, unique cultural heritage, rich geography and strategic location.

On the other hand, despite all economic and technological developments, today's world has also brought many negativities to the agenda; while wars, epidemics, climate disasters and economic crises surround humanity from all sides, the importance of working life and social protection has become more obvious than ever in this age when everything related to humans has become more valuable. Cooperation based on the ancient friendship and brotherhood law to be established between the Turkic states in these areas is essential for the increase of social welfare and the deepening of the concept of a social state.

In this context, the international conference "Working Life and Social Protection in the Turkic States 2024" aims to bring together academics, experts and decision-makers from the Turkic states. Our aim is to encourage the sharing of knowledge and experience in these areas, to develop social policy and service models specific to the Turkic states through mutual exchange of ideas and to increase social welfare together.

I am honored to see you among us at this important conference that we will organize in cooperation with the Center for Labor and Social Security Education and Research (CASGEM), the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and the University of Health Sciences between October 31 - November 1, 2024.
